A different approach to food service consulting

On your next project, imagine having a food service consultant with the same level of education, training, and professional certification as the rest of your team. A consultant with in-depth understanding of the architectural and engineering  elements of commercial design projects and the ability to effectively coordinate with all members of your team.

History

As managing principal, I am responsible for conceptual design, and the development of your contract documents. My post graduate training in culinary arts and food service management is complemented by project management experience that included national restaurant and hotel projects.  In forming my own firm, I saw the opportunity to provide a more professional level of food service consulting services to the design community, and since 1990, our experience spans hospitality, education, and institutional food service projects for nationally recognized architecture and interior design firms.

What makes us unique

Most architects are pleased that we can provide signed and sealed construction documents, but that is only one element that sets us apart from other consulting firms...

COMMUNICATION A project team speaks many languages. The architect talks about LEED, ADA, and NFPA, the chef converses about Mirepoix, Garde Manger and Mise en Place, and the engineer discusses electrical phase, MBTU’s, CFM, static pressures, and duct velocities. I understand all these fields and can respond knowledgeably. I also understand that careful documentation of all project related discussions and clear, prompt communication is an essential responsibility as a team member. PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS All your work is handled by a licensed architect, and I do not outsource any part of document production. I am present at the first meeting and continue to be your point of contact until the project is complete. We are not associated with any equipment suppliers or manufacturers, and do not accept compensation in any form from any party other than the client. This allows us to recommend equipment and designs that serve the best interest of the client at the lowest cost without any outside influence.

"Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course if you dig deeper, it's really how it works."
